Galatia, Mehmetçik Village was the only Turkish Village in the region before the Cypriot War. The Village was known to be the "grape - heart" of Cyprus. The production cooperated with Village, and farmers were exporting their grapes directly to the UK and other EU countries before the Cypriot war. Mehmetçik Village is famous for the "Grape Festival," which has been organized in the first week of August since 1960. The festival's theme is to celebrate grapes by serving the products grape produced in the Village's shared culture: Wine, Zivania ( Cypriot Alcoholic Product, Sucuk Desert...

Celebi Garden organizes special tours to grape farms in Mehmetçik Village every July and August to introduce different grape varieties and show the guests how village citizens produce Wine, Zivania, and Sucuk. Celebi Grape Distillery is the only EU certified distillery in North Cyprus. We love production and sharing our culture though tourism. You can either join, group experiences or organize special tours for your small group.

Galatya, Mehmetçik Köyü, Kıbrıs Savaşı'ndan önce bölgedeki tek Türk Köyü idi. Köy, Kıbrıs'ın "üzüm kalbi" olarak biliniyordu. Savaş öncesinde Köy halkı, ürettiği üzümleri kümelenme yolu ile birleşerek doğrudan, İngiltere ve Avrupa pazarına ihraç ediyordu. Mehmetçik Köyü, 1960 yılından bu yana Ağustos ayının ilk haftasında düzenlenen "Üzüm Festivali" ile ünlüdür. Festivalin teması, Köyün ortak kültürü çerçevesinde üretilen üzüm ürünlerini, Şarap, Zivaniya (Kıbrıs Alkollü Ürünü) , Üzüm sucuğu gibi sunarak üzümleri kutlamaktır.

Çelebi Garden, her yıl Temmuz ve Ağustos aylarında Mehmetçik Köyü'ndeki üzüm çiftliklerine farklı üzüm çeşitlerini tanıtmak ve köylülerin Şarap, Zivanya ve Sucuk'u nasıl ürettiklerini konuklara göstermek için özel turlar düzenlemektedir. Çelebi Üzüm Damıtımevi, Kuzey Kıbrıs'ta AB sertifikalı tek damıtma tesisidir. Turizm yoluyla üretmeyi ve kültürümüzü paylaşmayı seviyoruz.
